Pottery

Reconnecting with clay! Pottery started as a simple curiosity, but quickly became one of the few activities where I completely disconnect from screens while still feeling creative.

Pottery has become a way for me to step away from screens and make something physical again. So much of daily life already happens digitally: work, communication, entertainment. Pottery feels like the opposite of that. It’s creative, tactile, and fully analog.

For a long time I only worked with hand-building techniques, which I loved because of the freedom that comes with it. There’s less pressure to make something perfect, and more room to experiment. Recently I finally started working on the wheel, which feels like an entirely new challenge.

Like any design process, pottery is mostly about trial and error. Pieces collapse, crack, or turn out completely different from what I imagined. But that’s also where a lot of the enjoyment comes from: learning to accept imperfections, trying again, and slowly improving over time.

One of my long-term goals is to eventually make a really good teapot and maybe even an urn. Not necessarily perfect objects, but pieces that genuinely feel personal and handmade.
